Based upon the principles of communicative language learning, this collection of classroom exercises on the practice of spoken Chinese is designed for teachers of high school and college students at all levels of language learning. Each page is designed to be used as a master, and the text is suitable for both pair and group work. Useful as a supplement to a variety of texts, these exercises are illustrated by lighthearted B&W drawings which underscore key points for discussion. All exercises feature a "communication gap," an activity opportunity which allows students to discuss and use their working knowledge of Chinese to fill in the missing information.
